The 11th International Malaysian Studies Conference (MSC 11)
SOG ONLINE: Persatuan Sains Sosial Malaysia (Malaysian Social Science Association – PSSM), in cooperation with the School of Government (COLGIS) Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS) had being convening the 11th International Malaysian Studies Conference (MSC11) from 13-14 August, 2018 at Adya Hotel, Langkawi, Kedah Darul Aman.
MSC11 with the theme MALAYSIAN SOCIAL SCIENCE IN THE 21ST CENTURY: GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION AND INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT will be launched by YAM Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin Tuanku Muhriz, Royal Fellow, UKM. The objectives of MSC11 are to bring together scholars, both Malaysians and Malaysianists, for the purpose of scholarly exchange and interaction based on their research findings and reflections on Malaysia; to analyse opportunities, issues and problems relating to Malaysian Social Science in the 21st Century and global transformation; and to examine the state of Malaysian Studies and to suggest ways for its advancement, within the broader context of social science in the 21st century.
MSC11 which is a biennial conference will consist of 62 working papers, 7 institutional panels, 2 roundtables and 2 keynotes based on selected sub-themes of Malaysian Studies. We expect over 100 local as well as foreign participants from ASEAN countries, Japan and Europe.
MSC11 Keynote Speakers are Distinguished Professor Datuk Dr. Shamsul Amri Baharuddin, Founding Director, Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA), National University of Malaysia and Prof. Dr. Johan Saravanamuttu, Adjunct Senior Fellow S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (SRSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
