UUM ONLINE: To commemorate the return of Prof. Dr. Mohd Fo'ad Sakdan as the Vice-Chancellor of UUM, the School of Government (SoG) held a programme called ‘Sirih Pulang ke Gangang - Exclusive Conversation with the Vice-Chancellor' at EDC UUM last Sunday.

The programme is an initiative designed to celebrate his return to Sintok valley, where he previously worked before moving to the University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halimah Abdul Manaf, the Dean of SOG, the purpose of this dialogue was to foster closer relationships between the academic and administrative staff and the Vice-Chancellor. Additionally, it provided an opportunity for the university's top management to spend quality time with these groups.

"One of the primary objectives is to establish proximity with the upper echelon of management and address matters particularly with regard to the recruitment of pension staff, as there exists a shortage of qualified replacements within SoG.

"We expect the top management to demonstrate a sincere commitment to addressing the ongoing concerns at SoG, in addition to facilitating an introduction between members of staff at SoG and the Vice-Chancellor,” she said.

Prof. Dr. Mohd Fo'ad shared his expertise in best management practises, drawing from his prior experience as Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UNIMAP.

In addition, he also took note of the duties of lecturers at Universiti Utara Malaysia, particularly at SoG.

Numerous interesting contents were conducted during the programme, such as an informal dialogue with the Vice-Chancellor, the presentation of the SoG Family Care Basket, and a breaking of fast ceremony with Indonesian mobility students.

Furthermore, contribution was also presented to Mdm. Norsharani Harun, a former cleaner who has rendered services to SoG for more than a decade.

The event was also graced by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni).
